Sexiest Man Alive[edit]

The annual feature the “Sexiest Man Alive” is billed as a benchmark of male attractiveness and typically includes only famous people and celebrities. It is determined using a procedure similar to the procedure used for Time‘s Person of the Year. The origin of the title was a discussion on a planned story on Mel Gibson. Someone exclaimed, “Oh my God, he is the sexiest man alive!” And someone else said, “You should use that as a cover line.”[27]

For the first decade or so, the feature appeared at uneven intervals. Originally awarded in the wintertime, it shifted around the calendar, resulting in gaps as short as seven months and as long as a year and a half, with no selection at all during 1994 (21 years later the magazine did select Keanu Reeves to fill the 1994 gap, with runners-up including Hugh Grant and Jim Carrey). Since 1997, the dates have settled between mid-November and early December.

As of 2018[update], John F. Kennedy Jr. and Patrick Swayze are the only winners to have died. Kennedy Jr., Adam Levine, David Beckham, and Blake Shelton are the only non-actors to have won the award. There’s a lot of hot and attractive celebrity men in the world from the likes of David Beckham to Ashley Banjo.

 ERBE SELVATICHE COMMESTIBILI

Molte delle erbe che noi definiamo infestanti sono invece delle prelibatezze, commestibili ottime nelle insalate, nei ripieni, nelle frittate o per insaporire anche altri cibi.

Quando raccogliamo delle erbe selvatiche dobbiamo osservare alcune precauzioni:


Evitare le strade trafficate o zone dove ci sono fonti d’inquinamento , o dove ci sono campi dove sono stati usati pesticidi o vecchi raccolti che nel suolo potrebbero ancora avere tracce di pesticidi che possano danneggiare le piante e comprometterne la sicurezza.


Cosa importante da ricordare è che non tutte le piante selvatiche sono commestibili. Per evitare errori non raccogliere erbe che non sei sicuro di aver riconosciuto.


Cogli nel modo corretto senza danneggiare le radici in modo che possano poi riprodursi.


Evitare di raccogliere le erbe in parchi dove vanno cani gatti etc..la presenza di feci potrebbe contaminare la nostra pianta e soprattutto se noi decidiamo di consumarle crude.

Impariamo insieme a conoscerne alcune:


La piantaggine: diffusa ai bordi dei sentieri, prati di montagna o zone incolte, ottima da mangiare in associazione con altre erbe. Si mangiano le foglie che è possibile utilizzare in frittate o insalate. E’ una pianta perenne, perciò può esser raccolta tutto l’anno. Le foglie si raccolgono, ben sviluppate, da giugno ad agosto; i semi si ottengono recidendo le spighe in agosto-settembre, quando cominciano a imbrunire.Con la piantaggine si preparano gustose insalate agresti e squisiti minestroni. Può essere usata in insalata ma è sovente unita ad altre piante, lessata e condita con olio e aceto aromatico.


Il finocchio selvatico: dalla fine dell’inverno alla tarda primavera si trovano i giovani fusti da utilizzare in misticanza o in pinzimonio, mentre da luglio ad ottobre si trovano i fiori e di seguito i frutti. Un consiglio, per raccogliere i fiori non abbattete tutta la pianta, è inutile perché il lavoro di selezione poi andrà comunque fatto a casa, quindi conviene farlo sul posto lasciando la pianta viva che così potrà riemettere nuovi fiori. I fiori vanno utilizzati freschi oppure seccati all’ombra e poi sgranati. Per raccogliere i frutti, sgranando le ombrelle direttamente sul posto mettendo sotto una bustina di carta, consiglio le giornate asciutte di fine ottobre. La base delle foglie ed i giovani fusti si mangiano in insalate aromatiche che accompagnano gli arrosti, oppure in proporzione con altre erbe selvatiche in misticanza. I fiori ed i semi si usano per aromatizzare arrosti, fettine alla pizzaiola, castagne lesse, pasticceria varia, biscotti salati.  Inoltre sempre con semi o fiori essiccati o freschi, si confezionano gradevoli tisane ed un liquore digestivo.


Il dente di leone o tarassaco: le foglie sono amare ma hanno un alto contenuto di ferro, si possono mangiare cotto o crude in insalata, i boccioli in insalata o sott’olio e i fiori in pastella. Le foglie sono molto nutrienti. Hanno un contenuto in beta-carotene maggiore delle carote e contengono più ferro degli spinaci. Il tarassaco contiene anche vitamine B-1, B-2, B-5, B-6, B-12, C, E, P e D, biotina, inositolo, potassio, fosforo, magnesio e zinco. La radice contiene lo zucchero inulina. Qualsiasi parte della pianta è commestibile quindi fiori foglie e radici. In primavera è preferibile consumare le foglie crude e nelle successive stagioni si consigliano cotte.


La carota selvatica: comune nei luoghi pietrosi, cresce spesso in grandi distese e fiorisce in estate. Si mangia la radice e le foglie, crude o aggiunte a zuppe e minestre. Se scegliete di raccogliere le radici, ricordate di mantenere sempre viva qualche pianta. Possiede le stesse sostanze nutritive della carota.



La bardana: molto comune lungo i fossati o in montagna a bassa quota, fiorisce in estate, si raccoglie e si utilizza la radice, lo stelo fioreale, i piccioli e le foglie. Non appena raccolta la radice, sarebbe utile spargere i semi in zona ( staccandoli dalla pianta ). La radice è grossa solo nelle piante di 2-3 anni, mentre in quelle piccole è troppo piccola per esser utilizzata, perciò è meglio lasciarla dov’è e raccogliere eventualmente solo le foglie e i piccioli. La radice va cotta a lungo, anche al vapore, poi condita con del semplice olio evo, lo stelo ( che va raccolto prima della fioritura ), va pulito dalle foglie e dalla parte fibrosa e cotto. I piccioli possono esser cotti o fritti in pastella.


La cicoria vera: è una pianta molto diffusa e comune in pianura, fiorisce in estate e la raccolta viene eseguita prima della fioritura. Di questa pianta si mangiano le foglie ( crude e cotte ), i giovani germogli in insalata.




Un’ altra pianta infestante molto diffusa è il “Topinambur“,  che oltre a regalare bellissimi fiori gialli, presenta un tubero commestibile dal sapore molto gradevole che può essere consumato sia crudo nelle insalate che cotto, come contorno o aggiunto ai minestroni. I tuberi del Topinambur hanno il pregio di poter essere utilizzati liberamente dai diabetici in quanto non contengono glucosio.



Pianta infestante molto nota è l’Ortica, utilizzabile come infuso o decotto, caratterizzata da grandi proprietà diuretiche e depurative, oltre essere ricca di proteine, vitamine, enzimi, e sali minerali. L’Ortica ha molteplici usi in cucina,  può essere impiegata infatti come verdura cotta, nelle minestre, nei risotti e persino cruda nelle insalate miste. Abbiamo parlato dell’ortica in un precedente articolo, leggete qui altre proprietà. Il periodo ideale per la raccolta è la primavera ma in pratica si può raccogliere da febbraio-marzo quando compaiono i primi germogli fino ad ottobre-novembre quando il freddo la fa morire. Si raccoglie tutta la pianta tagliandola a 10 cm da terra. Quando ormai è fiorita si possono raccogliere le singole foglie. I giovani germogli o le foglie sono impiegati, dopo cottura, per preparare frittate, sformati e risotti; è ottima anche bollita e condita con olio e limone. Non vanno mangiati i semi della pianta e per il fatto che è una pianta urticante vi consigliamo di raccoglierla sempre con i guanti.


La Parientaria è ricca di ricca di mucillagini, tannini, flavonoidi e sali di potassio., si può raccogliere l’intera pianta prima della fioritura. Dopo la fioritura è preferibile raccogliere solo le sommità più tenere. E’ preferibile cucinarla come l’ortica, da usare in minestroni, frittate o lessa.
